Dear Helen,

Well, it sure does feel good to be home again, but I wish you were here. How did old “Sandy Claws treat you. I ate too much junk the first day I got here and as a consequence, I was sick all day yesterday – that's the reason I'm a day late in writing.

I saw M.L.H. Saturday night when I went to her dinner – dance hickey. She saw mother a day or two ago, and said that your 10 lb. gain made you look a lot better. But she wouldn't tell me anything about you at all.

Since you won't concede anything on the football bets, I wonder if you happen to remember a bet we made a little less than a year ago – 5 pounds of candy against 5 yankee dimes. Remember? It won't be so very long until next June, and then I can collect.

I guess it's too late to wish you a Merry Christmas, although its only Christmas Eve, so,

Happy New Year,

Henry
