Mi querida Helen,

Is “querida” the strongest you've got for me?! Have you but 3 sheets of 2 “X2” paper. I'm waiting patiently for one of your inspirational letters – Don't forget that you're two letters behind, and that I'm expecting a sure enough 2 in 1 letter. A little mush (if you really mean it) goes pretty good now and then – like sugar in your coffee ” as the Bull Durham ads used to say.

We've been having some humdinging basketball games around here, and Manny Ponsford and Sandy Esquivel get bigger writeups than any of the rest of them. I sure wish I could take you to em. I haven't had a date for so long, I don't know what it feels like.

I've been loafing right along, not doing a thing ever since I came back; but I guess I'll wake up suddenly when I make a few 20's or 30's on the quizes that are coming up.

Love,

Henry
