January 6, 1924, Austin to Northampton, Massachusetts

Dearest,

“I still feel the spell of your last kiss upon me,” but “Take, oh take those lips away, lips that never mean a word they say.” I haven't had a letter from you for two weeks. I hope you haven't been sick as your mother thought, but I do hope you have some excuse for not writing me. I'm still hoping.

They started us right into work as soon as we got here, and we have promise of a whole lot worse to come.

Nothing of particular interest has happened, so I guess I'll quit.

Love,

Henry

My address is 2502 Nueces.
