Dear Helen,

Anything in particular that you want? All the boys say my wife sure is some little golddigger.

Your second letter sure was a pleasant surprise.

That letter I wrote you (one before the last) wasn't meant to kid you a bit – all cold facts.

I heard anything about Eva Belle – sounds kind of fishy to me. I thought you were going to ask me a really important question when you started off about Leap Year, but I got fooled. I'm worse at tennis than I am at dancing, but if you want to try to teach me that too, and know someplace where we can play, the proposition suits me O.K.

I'm glad you get in a day earlier than you thought you would; and the day won't be unlucky for me unless you give me the gate the first night. What time do you get in. I believe the train you will probably come on gets in about 9 o'clock, P.M. so, I guess I'll get my date the 14th, won't I?

There's a crippled kid across the street that plays the piano, and a boy named Estrada (from Mexico) that sure can sing. I've just come back from hearing him sing Maria, Mari [tilde over last i], La Amor Vieja, etc., in Spanish. The sure were pretty.

Your exams must start as soon as ours do. Ours start 1 wk. from today (Fri. 30th) and six days later Ill be climbing on the Choo-Choo, headed for home. Write me and tell me exactly when you get in etc.

I guess I'll be a campus Soph, 2nd year Frosh, etc. next year. I got 25 on the 2nd Chem quiz I took this term, and I had to make a 90 on the 3d one + on the final to pass. I took the third one the other day and didn't come any where near a 90, and my hopes for any other courses aren't much better. There are a whole bunch of experiments – Chem, Phys. + Zo – that I haven't handed in, and its to late now, because today was the last day.

If you've read this far you've done nobly, and its time for me get to work.

A whole bunch of Love,

[Love underlined 8 times]

Henry.
